Terms & Conditions
1. Medical Disclaimer (Role of the Doula)
Katrina is a trained professional doula, not a licensed medical doctor or midwife. The doula provides emotional, informational, and physical support during pregnancy and birth.
• No Medical Procedures: The doula does not perform any clinical or medical procedures, such as measuring blood pressure, checking fetal heart rate, or performing vaginal exams.
• No Medical Decisions: The doula does not make medical decisions on behalf of the client and does not negotiate with doctors or medical staff.
• All information provided is for educational purposes and does not replace professional medical advice. Clients are responsible for making their own informed decisions in consultation with their healthcare provider.
2. Investment and Payment Plan
My fees are transparent, and an official invoice is issued for every transaction.
For Birth Support Packages:
• 500 AED – Booking Deposit: A non-refundable fee required to secure your Estimated Due Date (EDD) in my calendar. This amount is deducted from your total package price.
• 50% of the remaining balance: Payable during our meetings (starting from week 28–30).
• The final 50% of the remaining balance: Due after the birth of your baby.
For Individual Consultations:
• Payment for standalone services (such as prenatal, postpartum, or lactation consultations) must be made in full prior to the session to secure your appointment time.
3. Notification of Labor
To ensure the doula can provide timely support, the client agrees to notify the doula as soon as they experience signs of labor or make the decision to leave for the hospital. Timely communication is essential for the doula to arrive at the hospital in a reasonable timeframe.
4. Backup Doula Policy
Your birth experience is my priority. In the unlikely event that Katrina is attending another birth, is ill, or is unable to attend due to a personal emergency or unavoidable circumstances, a qualified backup doula will be provided to ensure you have continuous professional support.
5. No Guarantees on Birth Outcomes
The doula supports the client’s birth choices but cannot guarantee a specific medical or non-medical outcome. Support will be provided regardless of whether the birth is vaginal or by planned/emergency cesarean section (subject to hospital policies).
6. Limitation of Liability
Bump to Baby is not responsible or liable for the course of labor, unexpected complications, emergency interventions, or any decisions made by the medical staff. The doula is also not liable for consequences resulting from the client's independent actions taken without a doctor's guidance.
7. Service Execution
A formal working relationship is only established upon signing a separate service agreement and payment of the booking fee. Booking a free 30-minute discovery call does not establish a formal or legally binding doula-client relationship.
8. Payments and Refunds
• Rapid Birth: If labor is extremely rapid and the baby is born before the doula arrives at the hospital (provided the doula was notified in a timely manner), a partial refund of the "birth" portion of the fee or an alternative service (such as a free postpartum visit) will be offered.
• Failure to Notify: If the doula is not called to the birth because the client failed to inform her of the onset of labor, the service is considered fully rendered, and no refund will be issued.
9. Cancellation and Termination
Either party may terminate the agreement prior to the birth. If the client chooses to cancel, a refund will be issued minus the cost of the services already rendered (booking fee, consultations, provided materials, and on-call availability).
10. Force Majeure
Neither party shall be held liable for failure to fulfill their obligations if such failure is caused by unforeseen, unavoidable circumstances, including natural disasters or sudden changes in hospital policies regarding partner births.
